Ways to share your time and talents:

Arlington Charities

Our First Sunday Food Collection provides non-perishable food and hygiene items for Arlington Charities, in addition to volunteer opportunities throughout the month.

Arlington Life Shelter

Sack lunches are prepared for 80 – 100 clients of Arlington Life Shelter using ingredients donated by members.

Christmas Toy Drive

Gifts are collected at Christmas to support the wants and needs of children through the Presbyterian Children's Home and Services.

Congregational Care Committee

The committee cares for our homebound friends by sending cards and by visiting. Communion is provided every month for those who cannot attend church. The committee also organizes special meals and receptions for the congregation. They also send birthday cards to members and friends of the church and acknowledge with cards and flowers a family death or a member in the hospital.

Knit Wits

Knit Wits is a small group who work to create knitted and crocheted items to donate. We do not all work on the same project, but each pick projects that match our own interest and skill level. We donate hats (for babies, children and adults), gloves, scarves, and baby blankets to helping places like Arlington Charities, Arlington Memorial Hospital, JPS Hospital, and three children’s homes.

Living Waters for the World

In March 2016, our first Living Waters team headed to Nicaragua and equipped the Kukra Hill community with a system that provides clean water for their community. Read more about our journey here. In 2018, we completed our second installation in Orinoco, Nicaragua. Due to the unrest in Nicaragua, we are currently exploring sites in Belize for our next installation.

Mobile Food Pantry

With several other churches and agencies, we distribute fresh food to hungry people in Southeast Arlington. On the second Saturday of each month at 8:00 am, we hand out fresh food from the Tarrant Area Food Bank until it is all gone!

NEW DAY

Westminster is a NEW DAY satellite location to help feed hungry students in AISD. We buy, pack, and deliver over hundreds of bags of food each week to students for the weekend, joining our efforts with the work of our sisters and brothers at Church of the Good Shepherd United Methodist, Trinity United Methodist Church, and Grace Presbyterian Church.

Quilters

The quilting group meets on the first Monday morning of each month at 9:30 a.m. to sew easy, hand-tied quilts which are given to the Salvation Army Arlington Family Life Center. It is the intent of the Quilters that each person take their quilt with them when they are able to leave the center.

Swift Action Friends Educate (S.A.F.E.)

After working with Swift Elementary on several projects, our SAFE volunteers have an ongoing relationship with the school through reading, tutoring, and working in the workroom, as well as helping with special events to love our neighbors as ourselves.
