2024 Session

Every Presbyterian church is governed by a representative democracy. The Session consists of our Pastor, nine active Ruling Elders, and the Clerk of Session. The Ruling Elders are congregation members elected by the congregation. Ruling Elders are representatives for the people of the church, active in various committees, and oversee all aspects of a church.

The Session is charged with maintaining the spiritual welfare and government of the church. In keeping with this purpose, it has the power to receive members into the communion of the church; set the church budget; minister to those in need; further our faith formation; and encourage a vision of the future with hope

Brooklyn Richardson

Brooklyn Richardson

Brooklyn serves Westminster as our Director of Youth & Children Ministries. In this role, she coordinates faith formation for our youngest members, teaching and learning from them how to follow Jesus. Brooklyn grew up active in church coming from a long line of full-time ministers, including her dad, grandfather and uncle. She considers Abilene, Texas her hometown, where her parents still live and are on church staff. She lives in Arlington with her husband Keith, daughter Nolie, and son Reid. Brooklyn has a mini zoo at her house, with four dogs, a bearded dragon, and a neighborhood cat. She is very involved in the community, including serving on the Arlington ISD Board of Trustees and co-leading Girl Scout Troop 3544. She is active in her local BSF study group and enjoys her book club friends who consistently challenge her in personal growth and love. Brooklyn has a heart for service and coordinating volunteers. She believes that everyone can help, has a God-given talent and can find a place to serve but may not have found that yet. She wants to help change that for our youth and children. Brooklyn is thrilled to connect with our families, engage with them and find out how we can best serve and nurture them as they raise Christ followers.

Reverend Miranda Trussell

The Reverend R. Miranda Trussell joined our staff as Parish Associate in May of 2022. A native North Texan, Miranda received her undergraduate degree from Schreiner University in Kerrville, Texas, a fine Presbyterian university in the beautiful Hill Country. Following college, Miranda continued to explore her passion for Christian education by attending Columbia Theological Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia. After a year exploring hospital chaplaincy at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas Miranda took a call at a church in the wilds of Missouri before returning to her beloved Texas. Miranda has always had a passion for working with youth and loves connecting and helping youth people explore and grow their faith. Miranda spends most of her time as a wife to David and mother to Robbie Grace, as well as spending time in their multi-generational home with her mother Robbie and mother-in-law Beth. In her free time Miranda and her family enjoy all things nerdy, from DC and Marvel to Star Wars and Star Trek. Miranda also has a deep love of making and enjoys weaving, knitting, and learning new ways to be creative.  After six years of being an active member of the Westminster family, she is thrilled to have her relationship with this community formally recognized and continue building relationships with the youth and adults of this chosen family.
