Workshops

Presbyterianism 101: Book of Order Overview - Join Rev. Betsy Pense (St. Peter, Fort Worth) as she leads this two-part session introducing the newest Book of Order. Please bring your own 2017-2019 Book of Order to these sessions. (You can order one here or ask your pastor!)

Discipleship: Up, In, and Out - Join Rev. Craig Sanders (Grace, Arlington) in looking at the ruling elder ordination vows, and how to live them out. As spiritual leaders of the church, how are we equipping disciples instead of making members?

Do Not Be Afraid: Bible Study - Join Rev. Kate McGee (Westminster, Arlington) in a thematic Bible study on fear and who we are called to be as Christians in 21st century USA.

Catching the Spirit - Join Rev. Betsy Lockhart (Trinity, Mansfield) as she examines the spiritual leadership of ruling elders, using Joan Gray's Sailboat Church. Are we frantically rowing and rowing, or are we catching the Spirit of God with our sailboats?

Overcoming Roadblocks - Join Rev. Murray Richey (Browning Heights, Haltom City) as he presents common obstacles that face ruling elders, and how we can be equipped to overcome them.

Presbyterian Partners in Ministry - Join Ruling Elder Bernabé Martínez (Gethsemane, Fort Worth) as he introduces many of our area Presbyterian partners in ministry, including Presbyterian Children's Home and Services, Austin College, Austin Seminary, Texas Presbyterian Foundation, and more, as well as outlining the connectional church with local congregations and Presbyteries in the Synod of the Sun.
