Opportunities
abound, both physical and financial, for meeting human needs of
the homeless, the hungry, the poor, the powerless of our community
and our world.
Arlington Charities:
- Members bring food to the church on the
first Sunday of each month. Some is given to Arlington Charities
and some is kept in the church food pantry.
- A group of members work 6 hours a month
(3 each on the third Tuesday and third Friday) at Tarrant Area
Food Bank to earn financial credit for Arlington Charities, so
that they may purchase food for people in need in our community.
- We contribute to a School Supply Drive
to supplement Arlington Charities donations to needy children
at the beginning of each school year.
- Christmas “Angel Tree” provides
gifts for several families through Arlington Charities.
Arlington Life Shelter:
Sack lunches are prepared
for 80 – 100 clients of Arlington Life Shelter on the fifth
Sunday of the month
Teddy Bear/Stuffed Animal Drive:
New or slightly used animals are given to the
police and fire departments, who in turn give them to traumatized
children.
Quilts:
A group meets on the first Monday morning of
each month to sew easy quilts which are given to the Salvation Army
Shelter.

Coptic Orphanage of Luxor, Egypt: Because
a WPC member is closely associated with this orphanage, we collect
school supplies, clothing and small toys to be sent to them. Recycling
aluminum cans also funds this project.
Free Use of the WPC Facility is
offered on a first come, first served basis to approved non-profit
groups in the community. We are currently home for Girl Scouts,
Boy Scouts, Mom’s Club, and an MS exercise group.
Financially:
WPC members support our community,
nation and world through donations to One Great Hour of Sharing
(at Easter), Pentecost Offering, Christmas Joy Offering, Souper
Bowl of Caring (the youth collect money on Super Bowl Sunday for
local charities).
