On February 16, 1958, Westminster Presbyterian Church of Arlington held its first worship service at South Davis Elementary School, led by organizing pastor, Joe Russell. On Easter Sunday, 1960, the first service in the present sanctuary was held. In 1968, a temporary church school building was added, built by members and named for John Omvig, an elder and test pilot who died in the line of duty.

In 1977, both buildings underwent renovation. At that time, the stained glass windows at the front of the sanctuary, designed by Alan Farquhar, and based on Psalm 121, were installed. In 1983, the congregation commissioned Ross King of Ft. Worth to build a custom, 17- rank pipe organ. The organ case is designed to complement the stained glass.

In 1996, a major capitol expenditure program was undertaken to totally reconstruct the church school building and add a large fellowship hall and kitchen. The facility was dedicated in September of 1997. About the same time, the playground was installed. The covered patio, picnic tables and grills were added later.

The exquisite on the back wall of the sanctuary was lovingly crafted by a group of dedicated church ladies over a two year period. It is based on London’s Westminster Abbey Coat of Arms and is an expression of the beauty, majesty and glory of God.
